Festival Update

Did someone just drop a pin? The office is certainly a quieter place as everyone finally has a chance to take a big deep breath!

But the quiet time won't last for long as next month preparations start in earnest for the 21st celebrations.  Lisa is also packing her bags for Frameline, to begin the long and ardous search for the best Queer Cinema from around the world.

If you want your voice to be heard, join our facebook fan page or fill in our audience survey on our homepage - hurry it is closing shortly.

So lets keep everything quick and simple this edition and just giveaway some fabulous prizes to members, (thanks to Love Films & Hoyts) as well as a great year-round offer to all buff subscribers (thanks to Art Series Hotels).

Exactly 300 days till our 21st Party (that's if you are reading it today!!)

Cheers,

Rowena and the team

Members Giveaway - Redwoods

Winner of the prestigious 2009 Iris Award for Best Feature, Redwoods was a crowd favourite at 2010

Redwoods explores the conflict between true love and loyalty; between the comfort of the life you know, and the promise of the unknown.

Everett and Miles are in a comfortable but passionless relationship, which is held together by their son. When his family travels out of town, Everett is left to his own devices - that is until Chase pulls up in front of his house. A spark ignites between the two men that is impossible to ignore....

To win one of 5 copies of Redwoods, simply email your name, membership number and 'Redwoods' in the subject line to info@mqff.com.au. Entries close 5pm on Tuesday 25 May. All entries will go into a draw with the winners chosen at random and notified. If you don't win you can always buy the DVD from Hares & Hyena's and while you're there you can check out the rest of the titles from Love Films.

Member's Giveaway - Letters to Juliet

Thanks to our friends at Hoyts, we have 5 double passes to give away to Letters to Juliet.

Letters To Juliet is an enchanting love story -- a tale of encountering new sparks and rekindling old flames. When Sophie (Amanda Seyfried), a young American, travels to Verona, Italy -- the romantic city where Romeo first met Juliet -- she meets a group of volunteers who respond to letters written to Juliet seeking romantic advice. Sophie finds and answers a letter that has been lost for 50 years, and is stunned when its author Claire (Vanessa Redgrave) arrives in Italy with her handsome but overprotective grandson (Christopher Egan) to find the fiance she left decades before. Fascinated by Claire's quest, Sophie joins them on an adventure through the beautiful hills of Tuscany searching for Claire's long lost Lorenzo. The journey will change their lives forever, as they discover it's never too late to find true love.

To win one of 5 double passes to Letters to Juliet, simply email your name, membership number and 'Letters to Juliet' in the subject line to info@mqff.com.au. Entries close 5pm on Tuesday 25 May. All entries will go into a draw with the winners chosen at random and notified.
