MQFF TICKETING RULES
General Ticketing rules
- • All prices include GST & booking fee.
- • A session ticket or Golden Toffee Pass is required to enter each film.
- • Multipasses can only be used to purchase single tickets to separate sessions. They cannot be used to buy multiple tickets to a single session.
- • Seating is unreserved. We encourage patrons to arrive early.
- • Laws governing film festivals mean that all audience members must be 18 years or over, with the exception of Queeries (15 years and over).
- • One concession ticket per card holder will apply on presentation of valid card. When picking up tickets, please present your concession card.
- • No refunds or cancellations given unless a session is moved or cancelled.
Valid concessions: full time students, healthcare card holders, Senior's Card, Melbourne International Film Festival members, City of Melbourne Companion Card, ACMI members, Classic Cinema members.
Please note: when picking up pre-booked tickets, please present your valid concession card. MQFF members receive further discount. If you have booked more than one member or concession ticket for the same session, you’ll need to present a valid card for each one.
Golden Toffee Pass rules
- • Your laminated Golden Toffee Pass must be presented for entry to each session.
- • Golden Toffee Passes are strictly non-transferable.
- • Golden Toffee Pass holders are requested to be seated 15 minutes before the beginning of each session. Your reserved seat may be sold if the session is booked out.
- • All Special Presentation sessions (films with panels) must be pre-booked (for no extra fee). Please contact MQFF (ph 9662 4147) or specify which sessions you will be attending on the member’s booking form.
- • Golden Toffee Pass holders must purchase tickets to Queeries sessions.

Ticketing
Can I just buy a Multi-session Pass and decide on the movies I want to see later?
No, you must select the sessions when you buy the pass.
Can I buy more tickets than a pass allows? e.g. a Mint Pass = 7 tickets, but I want to buy 8 tickets?
Yes, simply buy a Mint Pass and a single ticket.
Can I use a pass to buy tickets for myself and my partner to the same session?
No, multipasses can only be used once per session.
I'm a member but my partner is not, can I still buy their tickets using my membership card for discounts?
No, membership benefits are not transferable. Get your partner to join up!
Can I print my tickets out at home?
Sorry, no. All tickets booked online can be picked up from the ACMI Box Office at any time during ACMI operating hours.
Change of mind/Refunds
What happens if I change my mind about the movie I want to see?
Choose carefully as there are are no refunds or exchanges given unless a session is moved or cancelled.
I accidentally chose the wrong film and didn't realise until after I completed my purchase. Can I change it?
No. Refunds or exchanges are not given unless a session is moved or cancelled.
I bought a ticket to a movie but it was the wrong session, how do I change it to the right session?
Sorry, you can't. No refunds or exchanges are given unless a session is moved or cancelled.
Payment Information
I clicked 'pay' twice, will I be charged twice?
No you won't be charged twice.
How long does the payment take to show on my credit card?
Less than one working day.
Do MQFF charge a credit card transaction fee?
No!
